HANS COLLETT COLLECTS “A FLIGHT” TOP PRIZE
CAFÉ KRONBORG AT PLUTALUANG 19th FEB 2018
Cafe Kronborg played at Plutaluang Navy Course on Monday 19th February, with the North and West courses being the challenge for the day. The practice green gave a clue as to the high speed of the greens today, ignoring this would be costly. The non-believers had many three putts and the slow pace of the South and East greens was yearned for by many in our group.
All in all the course was in pretty good condition, although muddy in places, with the North greens proving to be the more challenging, or maybe by the second nine the pace had been dialled in by the players.
Back in the clubhouse the cards showed the difficulty of the task today, with only 2 people beating their handicap and only 2 more matching theirs.
There were 2 flights with the A flight 0 to 20 and the B flight 21 and above.
The A Flight winner was Hans Collett with a sterling 39 points, the score of the day. Hans joining us for the first time this season and immediately taking the spoils. Second and Third place was decided on countback with 2 players having 36 points. Richard Kubicki was second with a massive 24 points on the back, only dropping 2 shots to par on the back 9, shame about the 12 points on the front! Ty Andersen had his best round of the season so far and was third losing out on second with a countback of 19 points. Peter Bygballe took fourth spot with 35 points and a countback of 20 points, relegating Rob Brown to the also rans due to 2 three putts on the last 2 holes resulting in a 17 point countback for Rob.
In the B Flight Torben Sorensen had another good day and took 1st place with 37 points, the only other player to beat their handicap. Second place was taken by Kai Aabling with a solid 35 points, another regular in the winners’ enclosure. Third and fourth spot were decided on countback with 2 players having 33 points. A welcome 3rd place for new regular player this season Gordon Baird, with his countback of 19 points beating Kurt Sandgaard’s countback of 17 points into fourth spot.
