Today’s round was played at the always popular Khao Kheow course which was in its usual fine condition with the exception of the tee boxes which were a bit ragged and in need of mowing. Due to recent heavy rain and the fact the yellow tees had been pushed back quite a bit the course played long today, otherwise, conditions were perfect for golf with moderate temperatures and now wind. Today we had to bench our resident weatherman Geoff Parker who insisted all the way to the course that we would get wet, however, there was no rain and the round was completed in very good time as we seemed to be the only ones on the course.
Neil Carter took the honors today with an excellent thirty-eight, he had the complete game today, drove the ball straight and long, approaches to the green were accurate and the putts went down. Four points adrift Jimmy Carr took second place with thirty-four, we understand Jimmy is going to use his day off on Tuesday to brush up on his mathematical skills. Third place was filled by Steve Durey on countback from Michael Brett both with thirty-two. Near pins went to Jimmy Carr, Steve Durey, and two to Michael Brett.

A baker’s dozen fronted up for today’s round at Pattavia where the weather was pleasant with blue skies, wispy white clouds, and moderate temperatures. The course was in good as usual.
Alan Sullivan who has been in great form lately stormed home in first place with a remarkable score of forty-four points off a fifteen handicap. This was golf at its best, in particular, his short game was flawless. A full seven strokes back in second place was Neil Carter on thirty-seven, a score with which most times one would expect to win. Jimmy Carr took third with thirty-four points. Near pins went to Geoff Parker, Alan Sullivan, Neil Carter, and Tony Robbins who is now appearing regularly on the near pin list.

Another baker’s dozen fronted up for the first medal round of the month at Crystal Bay. The fairways had just been mowed and were in fantastic condition. The greens were also in good shape but as usual, the C nine were a bit slower than the B nine. Light rain fell for a brief period but this time without the usual thunder and lightning so, fortunately, there was no interruption to play and the round was completed in about three and a half hours which was excellent.
Some very good scores were returned none more so than Takeshi Hakozaki who had a magnificent net sixty-five on his home course. Second place went to Roger Touhy with a net sixty-nine, while Neil Carter edged out Steve Durey for third place. Near pins went to Roger Touhy and two to Michael Brett. Over the coming weeks, there are some beautiful courses on the schedule amongst the are Thana City, Burapha, and Soi Dao so some good golf is in store.
Winner at Crystal Bay Takeshi Hakozaki
